Fresh on the heels of their record setting Offender Management System implementation for the Indiana Department of Correction, Mi-Case is once again making strides in the public safety space–this time by expanding their software offerings to include Jail Management Software. 

Fairfax County Sheriff's Office has awarded Mi-Case the contract for a new jail management system to support their Adult Detention Center. Mi-Case will work directly with Fairfax to retire aging legacy systems and implement a new, state of the art, consolidated, cloud hosted jail management system that will allow them to streamline and automate their business processes as well as drive efficiencies at booking, intake, classification, movement, count, programs, visitation, property management and beyond.

The new system will not only modernize support of all aspects of inmate intake and jail management operations for the Sheriff's Office but will also positively impact state and local agencies that directly support them.  

And while Jail Management may seem like a new frontier for Mi-Case, president Dean Allen has long been eyeing an expansion into the localized jail space based on their deep knowledge of the public safety landscape as a whole.

“We hear from Jail staff that the software products in the industry are often ‘cookie cutter’ designed systems that do not meet the modern and unique needs of Jail systems in this country. We are excited to be working with the exceptional team at the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office to take the best of the Mi-Case platform and customize it for a modern jail system.” says Dean Allen. He’s eager to see Mi-Case expand to support many other complex county operations like Fairfax with their proprietary jail management solution. 

Fairfax began looking for a new system 3 years ago and awarded the contract to Mi-Case after extensive RFP responses, vetting, and consideration of their own needs.

Mi-Case will be actively seeking to expand its jail management product base to include more municipalities in Virginia and beyond in 2024.
