Position Summary     

A JMS Sales Lead is responsible for selling software solutions to prospective clients, managing existing accounts, and driving revenue growth. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and presenting tailored software solutions to meet their specific needs. The ideal candidate will be proficient in government sales, have strong communication skills, and have a deep understanding of the Jail/Corrections industry.

Responsibilities 

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation:
    Identify and generate new leads through various channels (email outreach, networking, social media, industry events, etc.). Qualify leads and develop strategies to convert prospects into paying customers.
  • Sales Presentations & Demos:
    Conduct product demos, presentations, and meetings with potential clients to understand their needs and showcase how the software solution can address their pain points and improve their business operations.
  • Relationship Management:
    Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through continuous engagement and support.
  • Sales Negotiation & Closing:
    Lead negotiations and manage the sales cycle from prospecting to closing. Customize proposals and contracts, handle objections, and finalize deals to meet sales targets.
  • Product Knowledge & Training:
    Stay updated on the software product offerings, features, and market trends. Be able to articulate the product's value proposition clearly and confidently. Collaborate with the product and support teams to ensure proper onboarding and customer success.
  • Sales Reporting & CRM Management:
    Track sales activities and client interactions using the company’s CRM system. Report on sales progress, forecast revenue, and provide feedback on market trends and client needs.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on messaging, sales strategies, and customer needs.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    7-10 years of experience in software sales, Government sales, or a related field (specific Jail/Corrections sales experience preferred).
    Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of the software industry, including SaaS, cloud-based solutions, or enterprise software. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate technical concepts in simple terms and influence key stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Strong ability to understand customer challenges and recommend appropriate software solutions. Able to handle objections and overcome challenges during the sales process.
  • Sales Tools & CRM:
    Experience with sales tools and CRM software (HubSpot Comfortable using digital tools to manage leads, track sales activities, and analyze performance metrics.
  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Job Types: Full-time, Exempt

Salary: $120,000-$140,000 Base Salary, Commission & Bonus Structure

Location: Remote

Work Environment: Travel is required for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows. Expected travel 50-70%
